Micah Heathwood, is a producer, composer and instrumentalist based in Ngunnawal/Ngambri region, Canberra, Australia.
Bottle is his new double single (+ bonus track) that was originally written as only the first of the two songs. The first song was originally written with a heavy emphasis on uptempo electronic/ breaks and live jazz. Originally its sound was very band heavy and sat in the realm of modern jazz that is coming out of places such as Melbourne and London.
It was changed after its first studio recording. Micah practically remixed the recording, changed the arrangement, and added much more production, making it more IDM centred and thus different from its original live takes. Subsequently the live performance of the track changed as well.
Bottle 2 was an add on in the journey of production. Micah felt it was an appropriate reflection on how he also wanted the track to feel, even though the initial track had a much faster and heavier sound to it.
This release also offers a bonus track of the first live recording of Bottle, which was performed at Sideway in Canberra in 2021. This live recording shows the original jazz centred origins of the track, and also gives a picture of how the track has changed overtime.
Micah is excited to release these three tracks as a precursor to his debut EP which will arrive later in 2024. The bonus track will only be available on purchase of digital album or CD.
